5 MINUTE VALENTINES CARDS

APRONOLOGY UnMASKED

Weather or not....

Friday night I promised myself I would stay in the house all day Saturday. But then.... I hear Saturday there's a Tornado warning in Contra Costa, CA. Which is very significant because of the rarity. Well as you may know, I have a show that is close to airing and now I think I'm a Storm Chasing, News telling, info seeking missle mamma. So off I run, video camera in hand, to yes, find the Tornado. LOL. That's all I'm going to say about that, LOL. As you can see, I'm home, No Tornado but lots of weird weather and maybe will rethink the whole run toward the Tornado thing next time LOL LOL...whew.

How are you guys doing? Crazy weather everywhere huh?

I've got lots of fun interviews and many more coming on my other blog Living in Color with Steph Jordan. Also check out the Fan Page on Facebook

Check it out, you may recognize someone you know!

This is my latest painting :-) Its called 'Daughter of the Sun' and was created for Songstress 'Setra'. You can find out more about her at her website Daughter of the Sun who is also creating my theme song. I can't wait! One of the greatest things about creating these paintings is I am totally lost in them while I create them. I think I would paint 24/7 if I could LOL. It was so much fun.
What do you think?

Avatar - Mind Bender?

I have a question to ask. What movies did you see 2009? Did you see Avatar?

I ask only because I'm curious to know what people took away from that movie. I simply thought of it as Art. Yesterday I came across an Article on the Internet Discovery News and I was stuck for a minute. Is it just me or do some people have a tendency to read to much into movies? The Author asks "Is Avatar Racist?" and I just didn't get that. I saw it and I swear I left thinking 'what a wonderful movie' without reading anything extra into it. I thought the whole movie was done well and that's it. I didn't connect it to politics, race, religion or anything else. Ok I searched further... A Guidebook for Unresolved 'Avatar' Questions. Maybe you have a different take on it?

I think the day when 'A thing is excepted for the thing it is' is a long ways away but imagine the time that would be saved when over analyzing is replaced by acceptance. When tearing down is replaced by building up. And when a movie is just a movie (unless the creator specifically says "pay attention this is a message piece" LOL. I'm just saying!

In Living Color!

This painting is called Given.

I'm looking for an Inspirational Story to paint. Must be sharable. When the painting is done and recorded it goes to the chosen story :-)

Send your story to diviacity@diviacity.com Let's have some fun!

That 70's Girl! pt 2

Well here we are, having survived the beginning of a new year and more determined than ever to make it a better year than the last! Today I had a good laugh reminiscing about the things we used to sit around the porch and imagine as kids in the 70s, about the year 2010. No doubt our imaginations had been spurred by Television and hearsay. Movies like 'Land of the Giants' and 'Planet of the Apes' no doubt had us convinced that things could go either way. We could be trampled by Raging Giants or shot to death by Raging Monkeys! There was always Godzilla and King Kong to come and tear us a new one. And of course, there was the 'Animal Farm' mind bender by George Orwell. Well as a youngster it was definitely a mind bender for me! And finally, the mid-80s SciFi prophecy, 2010. Whatever we imagined we could never have known that we'd be where we are today, computers, fashion, health, music, wow.

Whatever the case, we did think things would be way out and futuristic. What did you think the year 2010 would be like? Admit it, you thought some futuristic stuff too!
I thought life would be very mechanical. Everything run by robots and machines. I guess in a way, the machines... LOL.

With the new year, new hopes, new prospects, new projects. I recently asked some survey questions for articles I'm writing and got tons of interesting answers. I'd love to hear what you have to say.

What's the one sign in potential mate th
at will make you walk away fast?
Women and Men, if you could ask or state one thing to a potential partner for life about what would keep it real and going, what would it be? As always I appreciate your answers and I don't use names in my Articles :-)

Well off to paint some more. Happy to be painting! Oh I did create some Artsy aprons.

Talk to you soon! :-)

A caricature of me

This fun caricature was done by John Pearson who I met at the Pleasanton Farmer's Market. He enticed me with a promise of being able to pull it off in 5 minutes. And he did. Then he told me it would look better in color...and it did. I love it. In fact, I love it so much I may make it my newest Logo! I think it describes me (or my plans LOL) this year, Fun, wild eyed for the possibilities
ahead and Living in Color. Or I could just be plain goofy! LOL

John has a fun website and has worked for Disney CDrom Games and The Simpson Show. His website is www.FamiliarImage.com and it's a lot of fun. A great feature is that you can upload pic of yourself and receive a Caricature delivered right to your door. You can also get Cake Designs, Avatars and more.

Per Wikipedia **A caricature can refer to a portrait that exaggerates or distorts the essence of a person or to create an easily identifiable visual likeness.
In literature, a caricature is a description of a person using exaggeration of some characteristics and oversimplification of others*

To me, it just shows the fun side and makes me laugh every time I look at it LOL. Besides that, right now I'd rather see the funny side of stuff.

How's it going for you? Life is Gooooood! :-) So did you have any expectations for the beginning of the New Year? I did, and so far so good LOL. I just expected it to be exciting and promising. I've run across lots of folks going in both directions. Some up, some down. I'm truly hoping everybody perks up and reaches out. I for one know I want to share some good spirit and inspiration. :-) And I'm working on it.
I think John captured me mulling that over in his drawing LOL.

I'd love to hear how your first day of 2010 was and what excitement you have planned for the future :-) I'm
